When you think of Britain, does the enchanting and iconic Bluebell come to mind? This beautiful flower is a highlight of any Scottish spring walk.

We were on the lookout, expecting the Kinclaven Bluebell Wood to be carpeted with these striking flowers, but we were about a week too early, as there were only a handful of bluebells scattered about.

So, instead of lots of flowery photos, we made the best of it and set off into the forest in search of moss covered trees and logs.

For our models, we had Haze, the red & white, 6-month-old English Field Cocker, Millie the brown & white Spring Spaniel, and Pepper, the Sprocker.

I love how serious Millie is, right before showing off her super silly side.

We also met up with Fury the Northern Inuit, Ginny the Golden Retriever, and Red the little Lakeland Terrier.

After the week spent photographing dogs with Mutley’s Snaps and other pet photographers, Daniel and I spent another week in Scotland, touring around the countryside in a campervan. We were going to try to make it back to the Bluebell Wood, but the timing just didn’t work out.

Hopefully, they’ll be in full bloom when we go back next year for Woofventures Retreats.
