My promise to you:
Whether I’m photographing a seasoned gun dog, a family in the field, or a quiet moment at the end of a long day, my approach is the same: your experience comes first.
Every session is built around respect. For your dog, for your people, and for the life you’re living together. We move at a natural pace. Nothing is forced or rushed.
Safety and care are non-negotiable. I’m Canine (& human) CPR and First Aid Certified, and I thoughtfully plan every session with both people and animals in mind.
From our first conversation to the delivery of your finished artwork, you’ll have a stress-free, full-service experience with guidance, intention, and attention to detail every step of the way.
Hi, I’m Kristen, and that little orange & white pup is Cedar.
As a hunter myself, I understand the rhythm of the field. When to move, when to wait, and when to stay out of the way. I know how to get the shot without disrupting yours.
For years, I’ve been known for photographing dogs, especially the ones who live for the trail, the field, and the water. They’ve been the heart of my work. The reason I picked up a camera in the first place. But over time, the story I’ve been called to tell has grown wider. This life we live outdoors isn’t just about the dogs.
It’s about the people who show up alongside them. The sportsmen and women who pass down traditions. The families who build legacy one season at a time. The early mornings in the blind and miles in the woods. The conversations by the campfire. The bonds formed through shared experiences in wild places.
For years, I captured those moments almost without realizing it. Now, I photograph them on purpose.
As a lifelong outdoorsy dog mom, I understand how deeply meaningful these seasons are. My work is rooted in authenticity, connection, and respect for the land, the animals, and the people who love them.
Whether you’re coming to me with a beloved companion, a family tradition, a personal milestone, or a story you want preserved, my goal is the same: to create honest imagery that reflects who you are and how you live.
Not staged. Not manufactured. Just real.
My work includes:
Outdoorsy dog parents and their companions
Gun dogs and working dogs in the field & blinds
Sporting families and individuals
Outfitters, guides, and estates
Brands and organizations rooted in outdoor culture
From personal portraits to editorial-style storytelling, each project is approached with care, curiosity, and a deep respect for tradition.
You don’t need a dog to step in front of my lens, but if you have one, they’ll always have a special place here.
A Few Things About Me
I’m happiest outdoors, especially during first light and golden-hour evenings.
I’m a certified scuba diver and still find peace below the surface when I’m not behind the camera.
Strong (iced) coffee is essential.
I teach dog photography workshops in Scotland alongside Ewan Cheyne of Mutley’s Snaps and Elke Vogelsang.
I love to travel, explore, and try new things. Cedar and I did a cross-country road trip in Summer 2025. 38 days, 7856 miles, 15 states. . . something like 13,573 photos later.
